About Our Family
The latch and kee is a family-owned and operated small business based in the Wesley Chapel, FL area, specializing in custom woodworking projects. We are a husband and wife team that moved to Wesley Chapel in 2017 from Texas with our two sons. We’ve been proudly serving the Tampa Bay area since 2019.
We grew up around woodworking, and worked in shops creating projects of all types. We absolutely love the work as well as the opportunity to meet new families and help them turn their dreams into reality.
We love living and serving in Wesley Chapel and surrounding communities because of the supportive and kind people who live here. The Tampa Bay area is such a diverse and friendly community and we look forward to a long future helping our friends and neighbors here to unlock their home’s possibilities for many years to come!
Our Work
Our projects include pantries, closets, laundry rooms, and accent walls such as shiplap, wainscoting, board & batten, and abstract walls – just to name a few. We also do special projects to meet any unique needs our customers may have.
When we visit your home we love to listen to your needs and desires as we explore your space together. This ensures that we can offer you the best possible design suggestions and offer input. We bring sample colors to help determine what will look best in your home. During this initial consultation we will also take measurements for your space to ensure your design fits the space perfectly.
Following the initial home visit, we will use the notes and measurements do develop a custom design to perfectly meet your needs. Once completed we return the design to you with a quote for final approval before beginning work.
We fabricate as much of your home project as possible off-site so that when we come to your home for installation we are there for only a few hours. This allows you to enjoy and use your shelving or other custom installation immediately. There is no drying time, no smell of stain when we leave, and we are not in your home for days on end, making your life just a little easier as we minimize our impact on your busy schedule. We use only high-quality, solid wood materials for your project to ensure maximum durability and strength that will last a lifetime.
Our favorite part of the experience is once the work is finished and we get to see your smiles, happiness, and expressions of disbelief at the transformation of your space. For us, that feeling is the most satisfying part of the work that we do.
